An announcement and memory lane

I realized recently that I hadn’t yet made an important announcement on the blog: We are moving!

My husband accepted a job in Chattanooga, Tennessee earlier this year. He moved to TN at the end of March while I stayed in Georgetown to finish up my work commitment through the end of the school year. It has been a long eleven weeks filled with lots of weekend road trips, but I will finally be joining him in Tennessee next weekend! I can’t wait:)

And now for a little walk down memory lane… My college freshman roommates were from Kentucky.

After our freshman year, I moved to Kentucky with them “for the summer” to work with their youth group. The next day I met a boy.

Six months later we were engaged. (Ignore my jacket – long story)

Eight months after that we were married.

Next month we will celebrate our sixth wedding anniversary, hard to believe! I’ve grumbled and complained about living in Kentucky (AKA: KenYucky) for most of the seven years I’ve been here. Now that we are finally moving home to Tennessee, I’m feeling surprisingly sad about leaving the little town that completely changed the course of my life.

A big thank you to all of the Central Kentucky families who have let me into their lives during these past few years of business. We probably won’t re-open in Chattanooga for a while as we get everything settled, but I will be sure to let you know here when we do! You can also keep up with us on our Facebook page which is updated more regularly than the blog.

Happy Mother’s Day!

Avie | Central Kentucky Newborn Photographer

Yesterday I got to meet sweet, nine day old Avie. Don’t let this first photo fool you – she was wide awake for most of her session! It took some hard work from Mom and Dad to get her nice and sleepy

Have I mentioned that I love newborn sessions? Hands down, the best part of my job!

Can you believe I’m actually blogging on the same day I posted their sneak peek to Facebook? Yay me!:)Now to catch up on the sessions I have missed…

*ETA: It’s been so long since I’ve blogged I forgot to resize the images first! Oops. Should be fixed now.

Blake | Central Kentucky Newborn Photographer

Today was baby Blake’s due date:)

His mom left me a voicemail wanting to schedule newborn photos and let me know that his due date was about a week away. He just couldn’t wait to meet everyone and when I called her back, he was here! I got the chance to spend the afternoon with him when he was just 6 days old. Here are a few of my favorites:

The pictures look fantastic! I can’t wait to see the rest! Thank you for making it so easy!

And since this is a photography blog after all, I have to post a photo! I am loving all things pumpkin lately, specifically Pumpkin Cream muffins and Pumpkin Spice Lattes from Starbucks. Yum!! Last week my love of pumpkin treats and a random urge to bake produced a big batch of Pumpkin Muffins with Cinnamon Streusel. Heavenly! We ate the last one a couple of days ago and I think it’s time to make another batch. These were definitely a hit at our house. Email me if you would like the recipe!

Thanks to my hubby for the iPhone photo of me baking! No makeup, messy ponytail and all:)My adorable apron is from SewCute Shop.
